First US Edition of this Janet Frame novel from 1962. Hardcover in excellent condition with minimal shelf wear. Beautiful black cloth-covered hardcover boards with gold and purple details and lettering. Binding is tight and contents are clean apart from an inscription on front endpaper. Slightly age-tanned paper edge. A touch of foxing on rear paper edge. Dust jacket with some edge-wear. and minor sun-fading/ discoloration. It has been covered in a removable protective transparent cover.
