Edizione contemporanea alla prima di Padova e con identica dedica dell'a. al Foccari datata 1 febbraio 1565, di questa tragedia classica in cinque atti in versi, fortemente ispirata all'Edipo di Sofocle, con molte addizioni e varianti dell'autore. C'è da notare che fu proprio con questo dramma, considerato dal Crescimbeni ''fra le migliori tragedie della nostra lingua'', che nel 1585 venne inaugurato, con grande magnificenza, il Teatro Olimpico di Andrea Palladio, a Vicenza.
