The EduProtocol Field Guide AI Literacy Edition (Paperback or Softback)

Using AI in the Classroom Doesn’t Have to Be Difficult

The EduProtocol Field Guide: AI Literacy Edition is an essential guidebook for educators navigating the questions of whether and how to incorporate AI in the classroom. Seasoned educators and technology specialists Kate Meyer and Nicole Davis make a compelling case that AI should neither be a force to be feared nor a crutch to be exiled. Rather, they argue, AI is best seen and implemented as a collaborator and thought partner for students and teachers alike.

Through fifteen detailed, innovative, easy-to-implement lesson frames or EduProtocols, the authors illustrate how educators can center not AI usage but AI literacy. Readers will come away from this book excited to bring AI into their classrooms and prepared to do so in an ethical, thoughtful, authentic, and engaging manner. AI is here to stay—and Meyer and Davis have the road map to make it work for you and your students.

Let's go!”—Dan Ryder, director of design and innovation, Community Regional Charter School, co-author of Intention: Critical Creativity in the Classroom

“This book feels nothing like a dry professional development manual and more like a recharging chat with your ‘teacher bestie’ in the lounge. It expertly balances high-level insights on responsible AI use with the practical, ready-to-use power of EduProtocols."—Kristel Anuszewski, 2024 Kennebeck County Teacher of the Year, 32-year educator, 27-year English teacher
