The Education of a Southern Gentleman: Racism in the South...in My Time

A product of the South, the author reveals his personal struggles with race and racism. His views are often at odds with his moral and Christian foundation, and he finds himself conflicted and at times racked with guilt because of his views -- kept hidden for decades. The author describes the environment which shaped his often-changing views and the key "life events" which finally bring him to terms with his true feelings, and those individuals who assisted in leading him "into the light."
