Synopsis
Educational reform often brings changes which are superficial at best and artificial at worst. However, a change is beginning to occur within secondary schools which is altering the fundamental structure of education in an attempt to create real improvement in the way in which American students are taught: the restructuring of the school day by means of extended time periods for instruction.
