Also included are brief explanations of Hubble's major scientific discoveries on the structure, size, and evolution of the Milky Way and other galaxies. There is a good balance between the presentation of the scientist's personal life (including difficulties he had with coworkers) and his achievements. Good-quality black-and-white photos appear throughout. A highly readable biography that's on a lower reading level than Mary Virginia Fox's Edwin Hubble (Watts, 1997).
