Third edition; 8 1/4 x 5 1/2; pp. [5], 6-128, [4]; textured blue cloth over boards, printed and decorated in gilt; a small oval inlay to front board (faded); a few splotches to cloth (eggs [?]); small rubbed spots to ffep and title page; tiny personal stamp of previous owner to pp. 3; a few penciled check marks to margins; in good condition.Adolphe Meyer (1868 - ?) was a chef and famed author of various books on the preparation of eggs, including the current one, which listed and described over 500 recipes - from traditional poached eggs to elaborate eggs moulded in timbales and Snow Eggs. The book also included a comprehensive chapter on the history of using eggs.
