Several loose unnumbered sheets (maps, notes, tables etc) variously dated 1947-48, bound inside RANAD tan covers 23x30cm. Fair with annotations. The RANAD (Route Airfields and Navigation Aid Documents) Route Briefs succeeded the Air Route Books issued by No. 216 Group of the Transport Command during WW2. The were made up of loose sheets (maps, airfield profiles, notes etc) as and when required, to help pilots execute specifically defined flights. Sometimes marked confidential, they were to be returned to the Briefing Officer on completion of the flight (in wartime, they were to be destroyed in the event of a forced landing in enemy or neutral territory).
