The Eight Hour Movement: A Reduction Of Hours Is An Increase Of Wages (1865)

""The Eight Hour Movement: A Reduction Of Hours Is An Increase Of Wages"" is a book written by Ira Steward in 1865. The book explores the history and significance of the eight-hour workday movement, which was a labor movement that aimed to reduce the number of working hours in a day from ten or twelve to eight. Steward argues that reducing working hours would not only improve the lives of workers but also increase wages, as employers would have to hire more workers to make up for the lost hours. The book also discusses the various obstacles faced by the movement, including opposition from employers and government officials. Overall, ""The Eight Hour Movement"" is a historical account of one of the most important labor movements in American history and its impact on the lives of workers. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
