The Eighth Method

Psychology professor Morris Shively has a dilemma. Although he doesn’t believe in the supernatural, the poltergeist in his living room does!

When the dinner bells from the RMS Lusitania begin ringing all by themselves, the eerie phenomenon threatens to tear the Shively family apart. Out of desperation, Morris turns to his old friend, Dr. Stanley Highstreet to investigate. A semi-retired physicist and founder of the Society for the Scientific Investigation of Unusual Phenomena, Dr. Highstreet assigns the case to his protégé, Zetrower Hill, a Sacramento private investigator.

How many methods are there to kill someone with a book? An innocent riddle? Or is it the key to the strange death of Margaret Shively? What began as a fairly typical poltergeist investigation quickly turns into a possible suicide and a fifty-five year old unsolved murder. This is the suspenseful story of the ingenious woman who bears the secret of the Eighth Method and pushes the brilliant mind of Dr. Stanley Highstreet to the limit. A modern mystery that combines the traditional whodunit and PI genres!
