Die digitale Nachrichten�bertragung geh�rt heute zu den wichtigen Wachstumsbranchen. Um die Mobilit�t des einzelnen noch weiter zu erh�hen, werden z. B. Sprache oder Bilder in digitaler Form auch �ber Funkstrecken zu den mobilen Empf�ngern �bertragen. Bereits vorhandenen Funkdiensten wie D-Netz, E-Netz, Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) oder Digitales Satelliten Radio (DSR) werden weitere folgen. Datenfunkstrecken sind sehr fehleranf�llig; auch das Funkkanalverhalten kann sich aufgrund der Teilnehmerbewegung zeitlich sehr schnell �ndern. Deshalb ist hier die Anwendung von Fehlerkorrekturverfahren unverzichtbar. Das Buch gibt eine Einf�hrung in die Methoden der Kanalcodierung zum Zwecke der Fehlerkorrektur. Ausgehend von der Shannon`schen Informationstheorie werden Codier- und Decodierverfahren f�r Block- und Faltungscodes diskutiert und anschaulich beschrieben. Es wird eine digitale �bertragungsstrecke von der Quelle bis zur Senke betrachtet einschlie�lich der grundlegenden digitalen Modulationsverfahren. Das Buch ist im Rahmen des MeDoc-Projektes (http://medoc.informatik.tu-muenchen.de/deutsch/medoc.html) in die elektronische Informatik-Bibliothek aufgenommen worden.
