George Trimble is an internal medicine hospitalist at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby, Ohio. He attended medical school at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and did his residency at Akron City Hospital. He was recipient of the Ideal Physician award in 2007, and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 2010 in recognition of his commitment to medical student education. He earned a bachelor of science in chemistry, magna cum laude, from Baldwin Wallace College. He was recipient of the American Chemical Society Division of Polymer Chemistry & the Annenberg/CPB Project Undergraduate Award in Organic Chemistry. He is also an inductee to the National Mathematics Honor Society. He was previously certified in prosthetics, orthotics and pedorthics. He has lectured nationally on such topics as biomechanics, the physics of gait, topics in diabetic foot care, and the manufacture of various orthopedic devices. Dr. Trimble has a special interest in promoting general scientific literacy to the public in a way that is fun, interesting and meaningful to the non-scientist. This book is based on a free lecture he gives to the public.
