Excerpt from Electric Railway Practices in 1924: Summary of Most Significant Features of Presentations Made by Electric Railways, August 15, 1924, to the Charles A. Coffin Foundation
Following the precedent established last year, the Charles A. Coffin Foundation decided to have a digest of the 1924 presentations made in order that there might be available a clear picture of the phases of electric railway practice which progressive managements con sider most creditable. This digest aims to cover the most suggestive parts of the presentations even if the devices or practices described are not entirely new. Obviously the best elements of practice tend to become standard; the fact that they do so is evidence of their value. A study of the digest will indicate to an executive the extent to which his own practice conforms to present tendencies. It should suggest one or more lines of improvement which he might profitably apply.
