Electrical stimulation of the nervous system plays a major role in medicine and rehabilitation. A computer simulation tool using Matlab is presented that enables experiments with two commonly used axon models including calculation of excitation thresholds and investigation of action potential propagation. About the Author

Simon Danner has a diploma in medicine and computer science. He is exploring spinal cord network models. Cornelia Wenger's background is in technical mathematics, currently modeling human cochlear neurons. Frank Rattay is a professor for computational neuroscience and biomedical engineering, mainly contributing to electrical nerve stimulation.
