Electronic Communication Systems: A Complete Course

Covers both traditional aspects of communications and recent developments including integrated circuits, microprocessors and software, and digital techniques and signals. Takes a circuitry plus systems viewpoint, discussing circuits and their resultant systems or equipment with equal emphasis. Over half the material is devoted to digital communication and communication systems. Contains chapter objectives, summaries, questions, worked examples, and problems with selected answers, plus two-color diagrams. This third edition reflects the continuing evolution of the field. Schweber conveys the reality of today's communication systems by balancing traditional elements with the three more recent, radical developments that have had the most dramatic effects on the field: the widespread use of integrated circuits, microprocessors and software, digital techniques and signals. The Second Edition adds coverage of new technologies and new application techniques--some not found in any other similar books--while it expands coverage of existing topics.
