Electronic Connectors (Paperback or Softback)

A connector is an electromechanical device that joins two electrical parts. The pins on the plugs and in the sockets are assigned specific signals or voltages, so pinout assignment diagrams were created by manufacturers to show what each pin is for.

Advances in connector technology move at fast speed and designers developed connectors that enabled us to hook peripheral devices to a myriad of computers. About one-third of electronic connectors sold in the U.S today are for printed circuit boards. And a strong demand for miniaturization continues to drive technological advances in the market.

The drive for miniaturization required high density connector designs as technologies rapidly developed.

This book describes pinouts for a wide array of connectors. It also shows photos or diagrams of each connector. Out research results in identifying over 50 connectors including DB9, DB15, DB25, DB37, DIN, Firewire, HDMI, M8, M12, MC3, MC4, Micro-D, Micro-HDMI, Mini-HDMI, RCA, RJ11, RJ12, RJ14, RJ45, RS232, RS422, SCSI, USB1, USB2, USB3, USB4, USB Micro, USB Mini, USB Type A, B, C, and VGA.

We also share information on connector adapters such as DB9 to DB25, DB15 to VGA, HDMI to M12, Micro-USB to HDMI, USB to DB9, and USB to RS232.
