Electronics: Circuits and Devices

The place of electronics in the education of scientists and engineers is well established; the importance of electronics in communication, control, instrumentation, and data processing makes it imperative for everyone concerned with physical science to be knowledgeable about this pervasive subject. The difficult questions are: "What electronics?" "At what level of sophistication?" and "In what form to be most useful?" This book has been designed for a one-term course in electronics at the sophomore level. It is aimed at students for whom this may be the only formal exposure to electronic circuits and devices; in addition, it is intended to provide the basic concepts and tools for further study of specific topics and to permit mastery of new devices and applications as they appear.
