Elementary Geometrical Statics: An Introduction to Graphic Statics is a book written by William John Dobbs and first published in 1897. The book is an introductory guide to graphic statics, a branch of engineering mechanics that deals with the analysis of forces and their effects on structures. It is a comprehensive and detailed guide that covers the fundamental principles of statics, including the laws of equilibrium, the resolution of forces, and the determination of reactions. The book is divided into chapters that cover various topics, including the graphical representation of forces, the calculation of moments, and the analysis of trusses and frames. The text is accompanied by numerous diagrams and illustrations that help to clarify the concepts discussed. Overall, Elementary Geometrical Statics is a valuable resource for students and professionals in the fields of engineering, architecture, and construction. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
