George Nakos is a professor emeritus of mathematics at the U.S. Naval Academy and an instructor for the engineering programs in the Whiting School of Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.
George was educated in mathematics in Athens (B.Sc. U. of Athens), in London (M.Sc. King’s College, U. of London), and in Baltimore (Ph.D. Johns Hopkins U.).
George has taught and designed a variety of courses for USNA and Hopkins. His interests are in algebra, topology, cryptography, and programming. He has received several awards and has authored texts.
