An Elementary Text Book of Botany from the German of Dr.K Pratl, edited by S.H.Vines, fellow and lecturer of Christ's College, Cambridge, with 275 woodcuts, Fifth Edition, Swan Sonnenschein & CO, Paternoster Square, 1889. Inside the front cover The British historian and Master of University College Oxford, James Franck Bright's (1832–1920) armorial bookplate that reflects his academic and family lineage, featuring the Bright family crest and coat of arms. Hardcover Condition: Very good for such old book; all pages intact. Brown cloth cover, gilt lettering on the spine, embossed. Head and tail is bumped, corners worn. Foxing, browning, discoloration of paper; cracks, marks, smudges on the cover and pages; pencil marks from the previous owner or bookseller; bookseller's label/sticker inside front cover; stained top edge, scratched bottom and vertical edge. Text is clear, with no marking or other intervention I could see. Look at the pictures provided, please. I am a small independent bookseller, all my books are packaged with great care.…

Welcome to Looe Bookshop. I am trading at West Looe Bookshop, 18th century building located at West Looe, on tiny backstreet - Princes Street. The history of the bookshop in Looe: in June 2019 I & my late partner Neil Stone reopened the only bookshop in Looe - The Old Hall Bookshop, in association with the owners of The Old Hall & The Old Hall Bookshop Sam and Jo Hawes (Bosco Books). The Old Hall Bookshop is known to been opened in 1974. The building originally was 19th century Chapel and Sunday School, on Shutta Road, in the historic Fishing town of Looe, in South East Cornwall. West Looe BOOKSHOP is open mostly Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (12.00 to 16.30) but days and times may change.
