In good condition. Boards exhibit typical wear with light areas of loss at corners and head and base of spine. Leather is still rich and dark in color. Front gutter is shaken, but intact. Notations throughout (more below on their importance). Occasional work damage to bottom left corner. Light toning to pages throughout, as to be expected. Binding intact. Please see photos. Rare astronomy text with great fold out plates of spherical equations and planetary calculations. Our book was *potentially* owned by Henry Clay, attorney and statesman. We do not have legitimate proof, however, on front end page is written Henricum Clay with Clay crossed out in pencil and written in Lutum Nigrum or Black Dirt and underneath written Nigrum Henricum Lutum or Henry Black Dirt Again, we have no definitive proof, but the signature matches other documents of his.
