Soiling to front board, edges and tips worn: Note, Dr. Thomas Graham, M.D. had published famous Graham's Law (gas diffusion) in 1848 and here cited on pp 365-6. Kane was also renowned chemist (Partington IV pp 346-7) first postulated ethyl radical; knighted, appointed President, Queen's College (Cork) and later Dean, Royal College of Science (Dublin) Overall VG.
