Synopsis

The Elements of Euclid is a mathematical textbook written by the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid. This particular edition, published in 1874, contains the first six books of Euclid's text, which cover topics such as plane geometry, proportion, and number theory. The book is written in a rigorous, deductive style, with each theorem and proof building on the previous ones. It is considered a foundational work in the history of mathematics and has been used as a textbook for centuries.
