Elements Of Geometry And Conic Sections (1858)

Elements of Geometry and Conic Sections is a comprehensive textbook written by Elias Loomis and first published in 1858. The book covers the fundamental principles of geometry and conic sections, including the properties of lines, angles, triangles, circles, and polygons. It also explores the properties of conic sections such as parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas. The book is divided into three parts. The first part covers the basic principles of geometry, including definitions, postulates, and theorems. The second part discusses the properties of conic sections and their applications in geometry and physics. The third part covers advanced topics in geometry, such as the geometry of three dimensions, spherical geometry, and non-Euclidean geometry. The book is written in a clear and concise style, with numerous diagrams and illustrations to aid in understanding. It is intended for students of mathematics, physics, and engineering, as well as for anyone interested in the principles of geometry and conic sections. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
