Elements of Vector Algebra

The book, Elements of Vector Algebra, is written for high school and engineering students who wish to gain elementary knowledge of vectors. Algebraic and geometric interpretations of vectors, along with examples and exercises in mathematical and engineering applications, have been provided to help develop a clear understanding of the vector concepts.

The book provides thorough treatment of elementary vector operators and their algebra, product of two and three vectors and various engineering and scientific applications involving these concepts. At the end of each chapter, comprehensive exercises with varying degrees of difficulty have been provided to further hone the concepts. Interdisciplinary problems that have practical applications can also be found in this book catering to the ever-extending scope of vector algebra.

Rishi Kumar Jha has been teaching mathematics to undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate engineering students for the past 25 years and is currently a faculty at National Institute of Technology, Patna. He is a gold medalist in Mathematics and received his Ph.D. from Patna University. He is a very experienced and acclaimed pedagogue and has exposure in both theoretical and practical applications of mathematical principles.

Anshuman Singh teaches undergraduate and graduate engineering students various courses that involve applications of vector concepts. He holds a B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and a Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, USA. He is currently a faculty in the Civil Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology Patna.
