Elvis the Bulldozer

After a terrible accident in the garden where he works, Elvis the bulldozer is banished to the garbage dump until he proves himself a hero and returns to the garden he loves

Kindergarten-Grade 3-This is a Little Engine That Could environmentalist sermon painted with enlarged versions of Where's Waldo?-type cartoon characters. Iris and Rusty are the vacuous gardeners who employ Elvis, "the hardest-working bulldozer there ever was," to maintain their own Eden, replete with cherry orchard overlooking a glass conservatory. Sporting an Elvis hairdo, the machine fights the urge to join his bigger cousins in laying waste to nature. A macho daydreaming accident finds Elvis demoted to bulldozing garbage, but there's little doubt that he'll rise to save the world or, at least, Iris and Rusty's garden, from the devastation wreaked by the Renegade Road Company. The story is trivial, the characters are stereotyped, and the artwork is unimaginative. This evangelical Elvis won't make any converts.
