Embers From The Fall: Book One

Elaina Dairik ran through most of her life honoring The First and waiting for her Forging Day as most Demanie did. Now, newly forged within the fires of the Gods and writhing with magic of the land, tradition and duty call her towards the Eastern Grove Training Center to train to fight against the Creatures of the Dark plaguing her universe. But her magic, and the Gods, are different than she expected.

The emotional toll that comes with the power of the Gods intertwines with Elaina’s own fears, leading to trust becoming a word she hides away from. But the bounds of her new power, her new feelings for Rosylyn, and her need for control become secondary when news arrives of ruthless and targeted attacks on villages spreads and knocks burning hands on her own door.

Where was the High Council to intervene? Where were the Gods?

If Elaina gives into her fear and resists trusting those around her, she loses all chances of saving her people and those she loves against an enemy that was supposed to be her protection.
