Emerald City Blues

When the comfortable yuppie world of Chris Olson and Jenifer Hart collides with the desperate lives of Reb and Flynn, two lesbian runaways struggling to survive on the streets of Seattle, the forcast is trouble. A gritty, enormously readable novel of contemporary lesbigay life which raises real questions about the meaning of family and community, and about the walls we construct. A celebration of the healing powers of love.

Lights flashing, siren screaming, a patrol car screeched around the corner. Chris looked up at it with relief, but did not fail to catch the panic on Reb's face. "Shit!" she cried. "Get up, Flynn! Get up!" "It's okay-I'll tell them what happened," Chris said, trying to reassure her."She'll probably need to go to the hospital...." Fiercely, Reb interrupted her "No! They're just gonna pin somethin' on us and lock us up!" She leaned over her unconscious friend, and with a trembling hand tenderly wiped blood from her face. "Flynn, please, wake up!"
