About the Author
Wesley Davis, DNP, ENP-C, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC, FAANP, FAEN, FAAN is an assistant professor and the Dual Family/Emergency Nurse Practitioner Specialty Coordinator at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing. For over 20 years, Dr. Davis has worked as an emergency nurse in a variety of settings and has been widely published in emergency and trauma nursing. He is the current president of AAENP and author of the Emergency Nurse Practitioner Scope and Standards, due to be co-published by Springer Publishing and AAENP in December 2023.
Dr. Dian Dowling Evans is Professor Emeritus and former Program Director of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. With over 30 years of clinical experience as an emergency nurse practitioner (ENP), Dr. Evans helped to pioneer and advance the ENP role. Her contributions include collaborating with a core group of ENP national leaders to establish the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) serving as a founding board member and Past-Chair. During her tenure she established and led the ENP Special Practice Group for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the ENP Special Interest Group for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.
