Emerging Organic Materials for Nonlinear Optics

This book explores the synthesis, crystal growth, characterization, and structural investigation of novel nonlinear optical (NLO) materials, with particular emphasis on chalcone-based organic crystals. It discusses the fundamentals of nonlinear optics, crystal growth techniques, and the role of molecular structure in determining optical behavior. The book presents experimental methods such as FTIR, FT-Raman, X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Z-scan studies used to evaluate structural, thermal, linear, and nonlinear optical properties. Special focus is given to pyridine- and furan-based chalcone derivatives and their potential applications in photonics, optoelectronics, optical switching, frequency conversion, and advanced photonic technologies.
