When Canham began writing poetry, he wanted simply to say "I love you" to someone special. He did so, and the lady in question loved his poems; as time went on, however, some things changed, as all things do. He turned to poetry to explore life and the challenges that each of us face. From the beauty of love to the pain of the last goodbye, Canham captures the thoughts and feelings that shape our world.

Our Life To hold her hand, to walk with her To see her smile, to hear her laugh To kiss her, with such desire To hold her in my arms, to feel her warmth To fall asleep, in each other's arms To share the wonder, of what life will bring us To know one day, that our hearts are one To live and love like no other To know at last that fate has won.

About the Author

R. L. Canham was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario. After high school he joined the military serving with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, stationed in Calgary, Alberta. After getting out of the military, he received a diploma in travel and tourism. He now lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
