About the Author

Dr. Brenda Ayres is a full professor and member of thegraduate faculty at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where sheteaches English literature and also serves as Assistant Director to theuniversity's Honors Program. She is also the editor-in-chief for three journalsat LU. Most of her publications and conference presentations are in Victorianliterature (both American and British), which include over 150 articles plusthese book publications: Mary Wollstonecraft'sWar with Womanhood; Betwixt and Between the Biographies of Mary Wollstonecraft;Biographical Misrepresentations of British Women Writers: A Hall of Mirrors andthe Long Nineteenth Century; The Life and Works of Augusta Jane Evans Wilson,1835-1909; The Emperor's OldGroove: Decolonizing Disney's Magic Kingdom; Silent Voices: ForgottenNovels by Victorian Women Writers; Frances Trollope and the Novel of SocialChange; and Dissenting Women in Dickens' Novels: The Subversionof Domestic Ideology.
