Empirical Design in Structural Engineering explores the history, applicability and uses of empirical design. About the Author

Thomas Boothby is Professor of Architectural Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. He is a Registered Architect and Professional Engineer with 40 years of experience in structural engineering as a designer and educator. He is the author of Engineering Iron and Stone: Understanding Structural Analysis and Design Methods of the Late 19th Century and Empirical Structural Design for Architects, Engineers and Builders
