Empowering Your Child to Fly: A Family's Guide to Early Childhood Inclusion

Every child belongs. Every child is unique. Every child has strengths. Every child has the potential to fly.

Inclusion benefits all children! Jani Kozlowski is an experienced trainer and technical-assistance provider on inclusion and disability services who experienced these systems as a child, as a parent, and as a professional.

For parents, Empowering Your Child to Fly serves as a compassionate and practical resource for navigating early intervention and special education. Written from the perspective of an educator, parent, and former child in the system, this book helps families understand assessments, access to resources, and advocate for their child’s needs. Parents will find valuable guidance on embedding learning into daily routines, working with specialists, and maintaining balance while supporting their child’s growth.

Access to early childhood inclusion can be the experience that launches a child into a lifetime of feeling welcomed and included in all community settings. Together we can foster inclusion for all of the children, all of the families, and all of the baby birds as they learn to fly.
