Synopsis
We currently have 5 generations in our workforce today. That will not change in years to come. As our Traditionalists leave, our Generation Alphas will take their place. The inability to communicate effectively both internally among staff members as well as externally with customers is creating problems in business today. I created this book as a companion to the original book “10 Answer Keys, Communicating with the 5 Generations in the Workplace” as a tool to diagnose the issues that you are currently struggling with in your organization. It will help you develop a plan to address those issues. This should lead to increased growth, productivity, and profitability on the business level. Even more important, “Empowering the Multi-Generational Workforce” will help you develop a more positive culture in your organization. An additional section focuses on the concept of Customer Driven Focus. This means attaching the customer to everyone and everything in the organization. Once you attach what you do to people (customers) and not to inventory or dollars, things change in an organization for the better.
About the Author
Mary L. Erlain's career started in 1979 when she spent more than two decades working in family and clinical medicine. Her passion was helping people through compassionate care and providing understanding of how illness affected patients and family members. In 2001, she changed career paths and began working in sales training and development. Ms. Erlain founded Peak Development Strategies in 2007. "Connecting the dots and removing barriers! (TM)" embodies her mission in business. As a published author, dynamic speaker, professional trainer/coach/facilitator, Ms. Erlain offers business professionals the development services they need to thrive in their business roles. Ms. Erlain works with professionals in leadership and management skills development, succession planning, productivity, strategic business plan creation, sales coaching/ training, in addition to the recruitment of new business professionals. She has successfully managed, mentored and trained many successful business owners, managers and sales people during her career. She believes the best way to reenergize an owner and their organization is to develop a personalized plan strong enough to overcome any issues. With candor, encouragement and insight, her passion is to address the needs of people in business in a learning style that is comfortable for them. Ms. Erlain has been given a gift of connecting people. She is a valued referral source for her peers in business and will continue to use this gift to benefit others. The "give first" principle has been the cornerstone for her sustained growth in her organization. Ms. Erlain also facilitates Entrepreneurs Groups through her partnership with Michael Shapiro in E Group Partners, Inc. where business owners connect and work with each other providing accountability to goals, insight and solutions to solve pressing problems and issues, along with best practices on business ideas and topics. The success of these peer groups has created a need to develop new co-facilitators and create additional groups. Ms. Erlain personal as well as organization's mission in life is to help as many people as possible develop themselves and discover their God-given gifts and talents. Ms. Erlain says, "I have a very special story to share with people that is an example of how God can work miracles in people's lives. My experiences in life did not happen just for me to own all by myself; instead, they will be shared with others as sources of hope."
