Emptying Myself

Emptying Myself: Cancer Doesn't Care That You Have Problems by Willette Smith is a heartfelt and transparent journey of faith, healing, and personal transformation in the face of a life-altering cancer diagnosis. Rooted in scripture and spiritual reflection, Willette begins by pointing readers to the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ, acknowledging that true strength and healing can only come through God. Through deeply personal diary-style entries, she shares the raw emotions, pain, disappointments, and spiritual battles she encountered while navigating cancer and the many unresolved struggles already present in her life. The book reveals how cancer became more than a physical fight. It became a divine interruption that forced her to confront emotional wounds, unhealthy relationships, and years of internal brokenness. With honesty and vulnerability, Willette explains how she learned to stop carrying the burdens of others while neglecting herself, discovering the importance of self-worth, boundaries, and spiritual cleansing. She challenges readers to release the "people, places, and things" that hinder healing and growth, emphasizing that unresolved pain can keep individuals spiritually trapped. Rather than allowing her suffering to silence her, Willette turns her testimony into a message of hope for others who may feel alone in their struggles. Emptying Myself is ultimately a powerful reminder that while cancer may change your life, God can use even the darkest seasons to bring healing, purpose, and transformation.
