Ornella Rota is a journalist, covering specifically intercultural societies, the Middle East, Caucasus, and music. She published Mithos, Zorba the Greek, a book based on interviews with Mikis Théodorakis, Lorca Massine, and Emanuale Severino, and Oil, water, cotton, a book based on Algeria with a preface by Ahmed Ben Bella. She edited the Italian works of Palestinian writer and musician Ibrahim Souss, and she collaborated as an editor with UNDP (United Nations Development Program). Her interests include philosophy, sociology, and psychology. She believes that to live life at the fullest is foremost a duty, not just a right. She likes to describe herself as "A European citizen of Italian nationality, who lives at the end of the second and the beginning of the third millennium and has a good education and is well-grounded with life.?
