While this book may be an important source for those wanting to self-diagnose and treat their allergies, its British emphasis limits its usefulness. This deficiency is most apparent in the resource lists of products and services for allergy sufferers. Libraries purchasing this title will also want to have Debra Lynn Dadd's Nontoxic, Natural, & Earthwise (Tarcher, 1990) . Although Dadd's book is oriented more toward promoting the use of nontoxic products that are safe for humans and the environment, its comprehensive source lists of U.S.-based companies from which to purchase these items can be invaluable for those who suffer from hypersensitivities to environmental substances.
