Synopsis
Some understanding about the nature of human rights can be gleaned from the various reasons that can be advanced for holding them. A prime concern is to offer protection from tyrannical and authoritarian calculations. Human rights abuses are monitored by United Nations committees, national institutions and governments and by many independent non-governmental organizations, such as Amnesty International, International Federation of Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, World Organization Against Torture, Freedom House, International Freedom of Expression Exchange and Anti-Slavery International. Human Rights are thus conceived in a universalist and egalitarian fashion. The book endeavors to provide all requirements of students and teachers to enable them to achieve success in social work and related activities. This book would be of great use to policymakers and planners as well as academicians who are interested to save the succeeding generations from the courage of Human Rights.
