There are also entries for worthies less well known: Big Nose Kate, Nellie Cashman, Scott Cooley, to cite a few. Even Gary Cooper and other actors who portrayed westerners are sketched in. Thrapp’s richly detailed biographies are continued in Volumes II (G–O) and III (P–Z).
Thrapp has included seventeenth- and eighteenth-century figures in both New France and New England, as well as the trans-Appalachian country, but the majority are nineteenth-century men and women who discovered, settled, fought for, or simply lived in the raw lands west of the Mississippi River.

Everything has been described as accurately as possible. All books have been collated and checked and any defects are defined. However should you be dissatisfied with any item you may return it within 10 days for a full refund.
PAYMENT
We accept payment by credit card; i.e.: Mastercard, VISA, Switch or Maestro. If you wish to pay by cheque, the payment needs to be in GBP(£)- UK Sterling. If payment is in any other currency an extra £12.00 needs to be added to the list price to cover our Bank's conversion charges.
POSTAGE
Postage and insurance will be at cost and will be added to the invoice.
