End (Tape Recorder Trilogy)

In 2015, a man who has been alive since the last Ice Age bought a tape recorder. Over the course of three days he dictated his life story as fast as he could while waiting for a woman to visit who he believes will finally be the death of him.

What did he say on the third day? He rode with the Arabs who spread Islam into North Africa. He was in Medina during the assassinations of both Caliph Umar and Caliph Uthman. He kept quiet as a desperate pope bamboozled the king of the Franks. He watched Charlemagne become Holy Roman Emperor. He worked for some of the greatest minds of the last thousand years. He saw mercantilism and the Industrial Revolution destroy the things he cared about. All these and more make up the last day’s session with the tape recorder.

End is the final book in the Tape Recorder Trilogy,

a journey from the earliest days of Humanity’s shared story, through myths and legends, pre-history and history, and right up to almost the present day, all told by a narrator who experienced it all first hand and is now free at last to tell you his life’s story with whatever time he has left.

Through his words, he hopes he will be remembered.
