Energy is essential for life, however due to ill effects of global warming and fluctuating prices of crude oil, there are serious issues of energy sources and generation. To address these issues, researchers are trying hard various solutions such as improving energy efficiency, developing of energy saving technology, making green energy affordable, etc. Out of conventional energy conversion devices, gas turbine power plant is clean plant, but on the other hand it suffers from lower efficiency when used alone. One of the approaches is to use gas turbine advanced cycle for higher efficiency. With higher efficiency, appropriate sizing of gas turbine power plant is also important otherwise added benefit may be leveraged. In this book, we have discussed how best steam injected gas turbine power plant can be sized for optimal operation. The methodology based on pinch analysis is developed for optimal sizing of steam injected gas turbine power plant. Proposed methodology is very simple and analytical in nature. This work is definitely useful for those working in green energy and energy management.

About the Author

Mukund H. Bade had completed PhD in the area of energy integration of thermal systems from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India. He is having 17 years of experience in teaching and research. His area of interest is pinch analysis, energy analysis of thermal system, fluid machines, heat transfer, etc.
