About the Author
Dr. Kathy Kinzer-Downs is a transformational coach who has spent nearly two decades bringing change and transformation into organizations, churches, people and Universities. With a pioneering and culture shifting gift set, Dr. Downs, has a resume of cultivating change wherever she goes. Dr. Kathy specializes in helping the Black church re-engage with a Millennial generation. She is passionate in her pursuit to help bring transformation & change to entities that are stagnant or dying. She brings academic experience, practical experience, and expertise to the arena of Millennial engagement with the Church, specifically Black Millennial Engagement with the Black Church. Dr. Kathy holds more than 15 years of experience working with 20-somethings and engaging them in their faith. She holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Black Church Studies with research focusing on Black Millennial Engagement from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, OH. She also holds the following degrees: MDiv (Ashland Theological), a MA in Communication (Regent University), a BA in Communications (Edinboro U of PA).
She is a church planter and the lead Pastor of Freedom Church. She is also the founder of Transforming with Dr. Kathy, LLC. Dr. Kathy is married to Lamont Downs and is the mom of two amazing boys, Marcus and Xavier.
