Le Blanc and Jacques-Eugène Armengaud, a French industrial engineer, and professor of machine drawing at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.An instructional guide to the construction of technical drawings, with the preface explaining that it is published to supply 'Working Engineers' - those of the lower classes - as 'every person, in any way connected with the Mechanical Arts, ought to possess a knowledge of the principles and practice of drawing'.Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title page, and sixty-five plates, including one colour plate. Collated, lacking four plates.Many of these plates feature designs and plans for railway stations and engines. In a half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Front board detached. Losses of leather to back strip head and tail, with rear joints starting and board tender. Internally, binding strained throughout, with text block tenderly held, and plates disbound and loosely inserted. Pages bright, with handling marks and the odd spot throughout. Lacking four plates.
