A guide to sources of ideas and information about the practices and fashions in English decoration in the 18th century; on the uses of color, style, and upholstery, and the arrangement of rooms. John Fowler was a partner in Colefax & Fowler and an expert in classic period country house decoration; John Cornforth is an architectural historian.
