*** BOOK in good condition. This is one of the very early editions before Shock Headed Peter became the standard cover picturre. The pages have been resewn and covered with light grey backstrap. Undated, After the110th German edition, 26th English edition and with an inscription dated July 1880. Light board covers with title on upper board and publisher catalogue on lower board (see images). Endpapers are split and the glue lines are obvious (see Images). Title page is missing. Under the backstrap are the remains of paper tape binding from an earlier date. Nice bright illustrated. In the hunter story the huntsman is descibed as wearing in blue coat; the acconpanying pictures show him wearing a green one, and there are typo derrors. lNo markings or childish embellishments. These "Pretty stories and funny pictures" were originally written for three year olds and are simple action and consequence morality stories ( e g if you don't drink your soup, you'll starve and die . . . in five days).
