Enhancing Evidence Preservation With Blockchain

Originally developed as the foundation of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology has rapidly evolved into a powerful tool with far-reaching implications for the legal domain. In the context of evidence preservation, blockchain offers a decentralized and tamper-resistant framework capable of ensuring data integrity and establishing a verifiable chain of custody. As legal systems grapple with the vulnerabilities of both physical and digital records, this technology presents a transformative shift toward more secure, transparent, and trustworthy processes. Enhancing Evidence Preservation With Blockchain examines how blockchain technology can address longstanding challenges in managing legal evidence across criminal, corporate, and international contexts, while also considering its ethical and regulatory implications. Through an interdisciplinary lens, this book highlights the urgency of adopting such technologies in response to rising cyber threats and the increasing globalization of legal processes, where the integrity and reliability of cross-border evidence must remain beyond question. Covering topics such as cross-border evidence sharing, sensitive digital records, and custody intelligence, this book is a fundamental academic resource for graduate and doctoral students, legal practitioners, forensic experts, compliance officers, blockchain developers, IT professionals, regulatory specialists, and more.
