Barbara Fagan-Smith and Kristin Brownstone created The Enlightened Workplace Project to provide an insightful look at what truly drives and sustains employee engagement and high-performing teams. It comes down to some very basic and core human needs that when fulfilled, create an environment where anything can be achieved. The Enlightened Workplace Project is designed to help leaders and managers create thriving workplace environments that inspire people to live their best lives and deliver extraordinary results. The term “enlightened” is broadly defined in a few ways:

When we refer to the term “workplace” we are talking about an organization, not a physical building. As many more people are working virtually, “workplace” is a concept and an experience, not just a physical space. You, as an individual, a manager, a leader, can impact your workplace, even if you think your broader organization is not ready. You can implement these ideas on a team level, and watch them spread across your organization in a grassroots manner.
