Binding sound, no inscriptions. 234pp. 24 b/w illustrations. This book, Pevsners second to be published in England, was a study of the role of the designer in the industrial process; the research produced a generally critical account of design standards in Britain. The industries studied included furniture, metalwork, pottery, textiles and wallpapers.
