Environmental design is an area of growing concern to architects. This introductory text will offer a useful overview and provide design guidance to the environmental engineering of "green" architecture. The basic principles of site planning, building form, materials and services engineering will be supported by examples of innovative practice. Case studies, which include prize-winning buildings, demonstrate how more environmentally appropriate and aesthetically attractive buildings can be realised successfully.
